Children’s Clothes for Haiti Orphanage Drive:  Children Of Christ Orphanage (COCO) in our twin community of Pignon, Haiti supports 52 children in residence, ages 2-20, as well as roughly 170 orphans in other locations within the Hinche Diocese.  The orphanage is run by Dr. Acene Jean Pierre and his wife, who have no source of outside support to provide for the needs of these children.  He works at various clinics throughout the area and often is not paid by the poor for his medical services. When visited in March, he and his wife asked whether our church could provide anything to support the orphanage, as he is struggling just to feed them, let alone provide shoes, clothing, toys, etc.
 
St. Mary’s Haiti Ministry is setting out an orphanage box in the Narthex so that parishioners may donate suitable summer clothes, shoes, toys, etc. for these children.  Parish children, Little Angels, SJNA, etc. often have clothes that no longer fit, and these could be donated to this worthy cause.  We could recycle these items by donation to the orphanage rather than the items being donated to Goodwill, YMCA, or simply discarded.  A box will be placed in the Narthex in early May for these items, to be emptied weekly for sorting and storage prior to shipment to Dr. Acene’s Ft. Pierce, FL mailing address;  where these items will be shipped for transport to Pignon by his contact person in residence.    Thank you for your continued generosity to the poor.

St. Mary's Adult Faith Program now has its own name: AFFIRM - Adult Faith Formation Is Right for Me.  Watch for AFFIRM Thursday announcements in the bulletin, in your email box, on the web, and on Facebook.
 
For the summer, we will hold AFFIRM Thursday Movie Nights.  This is a time to join your fellow parishioners for an evening movie and fellowship in the Parish Hall.  All movies begin promptly at 7pm.  Popcorn and drinks will be provided -- feel free to bring a snack to share. 

We will show a different movie on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month.  More information on each movie will be printed in the bulletin several weeks before the movie is shown.

Register with Saint Mary's Parish:  Registration is a commitment to our community, a way to be included in the religious, social and ministerial activities of our parish. Your registration affects the parish in many ways. It lets us support you and count on you, to call on you to assist in our mission.  Simply pick up a welcome packet from our church office during office hours or from the Narthex registration desk any time the church is open.  Complete the blue form (both sides) including as much information about each member of your family as possible.  You may also complete a Time and Talent Stewardship Form to volunteer or get more involved in our ministry and social groups.  Return the forms the church office for the secretary to enter your family into our records.
