Woman-to-Woman Workshop - October 13, 2007 at Our Lady of Nazareth Church in Roanoke: In response to the 2006 survey of diocesan women, the Women’s Commission is organizing the first in a series of regional workshops for women, which will address spiritual and social interests identified in the survey report. The Roanoke Workshop will be a full day (9:30 to 3:00) with childcare provided. Its focus is “Women of Faith in the Modern World.” The morning spiritual program will feature: Pat Slater discussing “Women in the Bible,” Dolores Groat introducing the “Prayer Bracelet Service,” and “Lectio Divina – Many Ways to Listen to God.” The afternoon program will run concurrent sessions on social topics with speakers provided by Catholic Charities: Dr. Martha Foy will speak on Depression in Women, Mrs. Sharon Day will conduct a Caretaker Support Workshop, and Donna Foley will discuss Parenting Issues & Approaches. All sessions include time for questions. Lunch will be provided with ample opportunity to chat and relax together. The cost is $10.
