#1 We registered at St. Mary's in August of 1967, my Husband Larry and our 6 children. I remember our first parish picnic held at Plank's Farm (now Hahn's Farm). Everyone brought side dishes and the parish furnished hotdogs and hamburgers. What a spread! Children waded and splashed in the river as adults watched and talked. Father Gallagher said grace as we all gathered for lunch. As we prayed and sang the cows joined in; scared me to death. There was laughter and games, music and fun. When you have Gaines, Kelly's, Deven's, and Weber's you had enough help!
#2 One year for the end of the year CCD party, Bob and Olive Kelly opened their house on Shadow Lake to 200 children (K-12). HOW BRAVE! They used galvanized trash cans for ice for drinks. The Kelly's included games like volleyball, croquet, and football. The high school students were used as officials and coaches for the younger students - God love them. Many parents and teachers attended to serve as many eyes to keep everyone safe. As always music developed... Wonderful memories!

The year "my son", Isaac Jackson was baptized, the RCIA candidates on the altar were to step in a "pan" of sorts and holy was poured over the candidate's head. The pan was to catch the holy water. Isaac was 17 years old at the time. Anyone who knows Isaac knows what a tall and wide young man he is! As he stepped up to be baptized Father Jim turned to the person filling his pitcher with holy water and said, "We're going to need more holy water!"
